Salvini wants an amnesty on hidden cash: "Neither taxes nor assets"

The leader of the League clarifies that the hypothesis under study concerns a "fiscal peace" on the "hundreds of billions" that the Italians have hidden "under the mattress"

Salvini wants an amnesty on hidden cash: "Neither taxes nor assets"

Other than estate or hidden cash taxes. The new tax project by Lega concerns (again) a pardon. To explain it is the same number one of the Carroccio, Matteo Salvini, which defines "the hypotheses of a property tax, taxes on savings, Italian current accounts or safety deposit boxes are without any foundation”. And he adds: “We are in government to remove, not to add taxes. The only reasoning going on is about a 'fiscal peace' for those wishing to remedy situations of irregularity relating not only to Equitalia but also to cash".

As in the case of scrap files, you write "fiscal peace" but read "pardon”. This would be about: offering those who have hidden money from the tax authorities the possibility of regularizing their position without criminal consequences and without paying all the evaded taxes (not to mention penalties and interest). A measure that would bring out new money to be taxed in the future, but which at the same time would continue to encourage escapism. Why be honest and always pay what is due if then - at more or less regular intervals - the government offers a loophole that allows you to keep the money stolen from the Treasury in your pocket?

Salvini told "Porta a Porta" that the hypothesis under study does not concern secret accounts in tax havens: "I'm not talking about money abroad, if someone brought it there, it's his business, but they tell me there are hundreds of billions in safe deposit boxes, still… We could put them on the circuit for investment. A tax could be charged and the right to use them restored”. Bruno Vespa pointed out that it would be "substantially hidden money", and Salvini nodded: "We are talking about money kept under the mattress".

From Movement 5 Stars, however, another denial arrives, this time against Salvini himself: "There is no hypothesis of amnesty, let alone on cash", report M5S sources questioned by the Dire agency. Will this be a new cause for conflict within the majority?
