In the history of the Italian Republic there is no memory of a worse figure than the one remedied by Matteo Salvini in Poland. Instead of maintaining a low profile, as decency would impose on any politician who has been compromised for years with the Russian regime, the secretary of the League has tried to regain his virginity with an extremely clumsy and inopportune international mission. Of course, the attempt to show off succeeded as always: only this time the Carroccio's number one rebounded on social media and in newspapers all over the world like a puppet object of mockery.
Salvini in Poland: Putin's T-shirt
Salvini in Poland he went there to support the reasons for peace, but when he arrived in Przemysl, a town not far from the Ukrainian border, he received a shocking welcome, to say the least. In front of a crowd of photographers and journalists, the mayor Wojciech Bakun (which, moreover, is right-wing) handed over to the Northern League leader a T-shirt with the face of Vladimir Putin. The same one with which Salvini had himself photographed smiling in 2017, on Red Square in Moscow, showing the thumbs up to his followers. This fills my heart with joy, I leave the controversies to others". That is to say to those same social networks that he has always fomented and which are now turning against him.
