Salvini brakes: "Stop the adjustment of pensions above 5 thousand euros"

Even on pensions a new front of dissent opens up with the M5S: the deputy premier excludes cuts on the highest allowances which are instead a workhorse of the pentastellati. And on the assets: "Never the assets, both from us and from the allies". The pension issue is still hot, waiting is on the evolution of the maneuver in view of the EU response.

Salvini brakes: "Stop the adjustment of pensions above 5 thousand euros"

More than a cut at "golden pensions" you have to “block the adjustment to extra-rich pensions from 5 euros upwards. The best way is to block adjustment to high pensions not covered by contributions; a pension of 2.500 euros is not high”. It would be objectionable whether a pension of 5.000 euros could be considered extra-rich. In any case, this is how Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini began, guest of "In half an hour more" conducted by Lucia Annunziata on Rai 3. Matteo Salvini answered a question on the cut, announced by the other deputy prime minister, Luigi Di Maio which foreshadowed a reduction of up to 40% on pensions over 90.000 euros the year. A new topic, therefore, adds to the long list of differences between the Lega and the 5 Star Movement. The topic of pensions, as well as that of basic income, remains at the center of the political agenda. By December 19th the EU Commission will have to give the definitive answer on the infringement procedure for Italy linked to the non-compliance with the debt and deficit parameters. Times are very tight and Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is intensifying the agenda of meetings in Brussels to try to give answers to pressing European requests. It remains just over a week to find a solution and times are very tight.

The "golden pensions" are not the only point of disagreement. The No Tav demonstration took place in Turin on Saturday, in which the demonstrators asked the M5S to fight to block the work. "I am in favor of new works and infrastructures from north to south, Italy needs to grow, I am in favor of Tab” comments, once again, the Minister of the Interior Salvini. “Then there's a government contract, we're waiting for the report on the TAV and costs, we'll see. I'm always for moving forward."

Finally, the 2019 budget maneuver. The head of the League has once again excluded any tax of a property type: “Italians are incredible savers: I wouldn't want someone to want to put their hand on savings and the houses of Italians by putting a patrimonial one "says Salvini. To the presenter's question about who could introduce a property, Salvini replied: "If someone imposes sanctions on you, then you should say put the property. But this is the furthest thing from the League's idea, and it is the same for the government allies”.
