Salini Impregilo-Astaldi: order for 397 million on the Naples-Bari line

The companies were awarded the contract for the design and construction of the Naples-Cancello section of the Naples-Bari railway line

New contract for the consortium Salini Impregilo-Astaldi. The announcement was made in a joint note by the two groups, which explains that the companies were awarded the contract for the design and construction of the section Naples-Gate of the HS/HC Naples-Bari railway line, for a value of 397 million euro.

The project is commissioned by Italferr and is to be completed by 2022. In particular, the works involve the first section of the Naples-Bari route and are strategic in the overall reorganization of the entire railway line. The work, in the section between Naples and Cancello, will make it possible to bring the tracks of the line to service the new Naples-Afragola station, which in the future will become the station for passenger interchange between regional and HS services, increasing the overall accessibility to rail transport in the Naples hub.

The contract stipulated between the parties also provides for the construction of the new Acerra station and two new stops for the metropolitan services, Casalnuovo and Centro Commerciale. The route will cover approximately 15,5 km in the territories of Casoria, Casalnuovo, Afragola, Caivano and Acerra.

Salini Impregilo is the parent company with 60% of the consortium with Astaldi. For the group led by Pietro Salini, this contract is part of the 1,7 billion euro awarded in the first months of 2017 already communicated to the market during the presentation of the preliminary results for 2016.
