The moment long awaited by thousands of consumers has arrived. The 2021 summer sales are about to start. From 1st to 3rd July, almost all Italian regions will kick off the long-awaited season of discounts. A period of more than a month in which citizens will be able to buy what they need at reduced prices. From clothing to household appliances, through furniture, cosmetics, personal and home accessories. No product will be excluded from the 2021 summer sales. For some, taking advantage of it is a sort of obligation, all the more so with the number of infections decreasing and the possibility of going around the shops (the mask is mandatory, by the way) with a little peace of mind in more.
SUMMER SALE 2021: WHEN THEY START
The first region to inaugurate the 2021 summer sales season will be the Sicilia, where we will start as early as Thursday 1 July, the last one will instead be there Puglia which has decided to start the discounts almost three weeks later (July 24) compared to all the other territories, also to take advantage of the arrival of summer tourists. In most Regions, the start date of the discounts has instead been set for Saturday July 3.
"The guideline that emerged at the Conference of Regions to maintain a single date for sales on the first Saturday of July, while displacing some territories, responds to the need to rebalance a market conditioned by lockdowns and to avoid further confusion both for consumers and for fashion retail operators”, comments the President of the Italian Fashion Federation-Confcommercio, Renato Borghi.
SUMMER SALES 2021: WHEN THEY END
There will be time to buy what you want. In almost all territories, the conclusion of the 2021 summer sales will in fact be in the last days of August. However, there are Regions, such as Sicily and Puglia where the first two weeks of September will also be available, while in Val d'Aosta the discounts will end even at the end of September.
SUMMER SALE 2021: ADVICE FOR CONSUMERS
There will be good opportunities right away with discounts that can reach up to 70% as the weeks go by. Before proceeding with the purchase, however, it is good to take into consideration some advice provided by Altroconsumo. THE in fact, rip-offs could be around the corner.
When you decide to buy a product, whether it's a dress or an appliance, you always have to look carefully at the tag which must contain the old price, the new one and the discount percentage and make sure that the indicated amount is applied at the checkout. Secondly, you must always check that the products are not damaged (in this case you can request the termination of the contract even after the purchase) and try on the clothing when possible (the change is at the merchant's discretion).
Altroconsumo also recommends avoiding "purchasing clothing items that do not have the two labels (the composition and the maintenance one), to avoid damaging them during cleaning" and to pay attention to the fact that the goods on sale are seasonal .
The warranty is valid for two years, so you have to keep the receipt (or photocopy it) for the necessary time. All shopkeepers are required to always accept credit card, regardless of the amount of the goods, but attention must be paid to payments "made with a revolving card, because the rates applied can exceed 20%", underlines Altroconsumo. Finally, every merchant will have to respect a rule: the goods on sale must be separate and clearly visible from those sold at full price.
Confcommercio Finally, he recalls that “customers must compulsorily wear the mask, as well as the workers on all occasions of interaction with the customers themselves”. Furthermore, all the safety regulations established by law must be respected, starting from interpersonal distancing (at least one metre).
