Saipem, contracts signed in Brazil and Saudi Arabia for a total of 700 million dollars

The group has been awarded two important contracts in Brazil and Saudi Arabia for a total value of 700 million dollars - 300 km from the coast of San Paolo, a 380 km gas pipeline - In the Arabian Gulf, four jackets and an observation platform.

Saipem, the Eni group company specializing in infrastructure for the exploration of hydrocarbon fields, has been awarded new E&C Offshore contracts in Brazil and Saudi Arabia for a total value of 700 million dollars.

In the South American country, as stated in a note from the Eni group, Saipem has obtained from Petrobras the Epci contract for the construction of the Rota Cabiunas gas pipeline, in the Pre-Salt region of the Santos Basin, approximately 300 kilometers off the coast of the state of São Paulo. This is the project envisaged in the contract: engineering and procurement of the underwater structures and the installation of a gas pipeline with a diameter of 24 inches and a length of 380 kilometres, at a maximum water depth of 2.200 metres. Offshore activities will be completed by the second quarter of 2014.

In Saudi Arabia instead, within the contract of the Long term agreement signed with Saudi Aramco, Saipem has been awarded the contract for the construction, transport and installation of marine infrastructure in the fields of Marjan and Manifa, located in the Arabian Gulf. The contract covers the manufacture, transport and the installation of four jackets and an observation platform, for a total weight of 3.300 tons. The offshore activities will be carried out in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Furthermore, Saipem has negotiated several variations of the scope of work on existing Offshore E&C contracts in the north and west of the African continent.
