Saipem awarded new contracts for 600 million dollars in South America

Saipem has been awarded new contracts in South America worth approximately $600 million.

In Brazil, it obtained a contract from Petrobas for the construction of the Lula Ne – Cernambi gas pipeline, in the Pre-Salt Region of the Santos Basin, approximately 270 kilometers off the coast of the State of São Paulo. The development involves the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of an 18-inch diameter, 19-kilometer long gas pipeline and related subsea equipment, which will be laid in a maximum water depth of 2.200 meters. Offshore activities will be carried out, during the second half of 2013, mainly by the Saipem FDS 2 vessel for the development of deep water fields. This is the first project for which Saipem plans to use the new base in Guaruj for pipeline logistics and storage.

In Venezuela, Saipem signed a contract with Pdvsa Petroleo SA for the construction of the Dragon-Cigma pipeline, as part of the “Delta Caribe Oriental” project. The contract involves the transport and installation of a gas pipeline, with a diameter of 36 inches and a length of approximately 110 kilometres, which will connect the Dragon gas platform, located approximately 50 kilometers off the north-eastern coast of Venezuela, with the Cigma complex, near Guiria in the Gulf of Paria, in the state of Sucre.
