Saipem, Mediaset and FCA drag the stock market (+1,1%)

Another day of passion for banks but the great leap of Saipem, Mediaset, Exor, FCA and Yoox gives impetus to Piazza Affari in the wake of the European and American stock exchanges, invigorated by the prudence of the Fed on interest rates - Fineco in FtseMib – Telecom Italia up and down before and after the appointment of Cattaneo as new CEO

Saipem, Mediaset and FCA drag the stock market (+1,1%)

Janet Yellen's words give impetus to the European markets which close the session on a positive note. The Ftse Mib closed up 1,12% while the other main indexes of the Old Continent did even better: Paris: +1,76%, London +1,59%, Frankfurt +1,6%.

Milan also benefited from the successful outcome of the five- and ten-year government bond auction, the yield of which reached new all-time lows. The Btp-bund spread drops to 106 basis points and a yield of 1,22%.

The purchases are also supported by the progress of oil, albeit slower than the afternoon surge by more than 3%. Wti rose by 1,52% to 38,86 dollars a barrel and Brent by 1,61% to 39,77 dollars a barrel. The greenback weakens with the euro/dollar exchange rate rising by 0,31% to 1,1326.

On Wall Street, the indices are moving in positive territory: the Dow Jones rises by 0,5% and the S&P500 by 0,5%. On the macroeconomic front, data on private sector employment in the USA was released today. In March, according to ADP numbers, 200 jobs were created, in line with analysts' expectations. Now the market is looking at the official figure including the public sector which will be announced on Friday. In this scenario S&P fails to hurt market sentiment. The rating agency that cut its growth estimates on the Eurozone for both 2016.

In Piazza Affari, purchases reward Saipem +7,88%, followed by FCA +5,85% on a positive day for the entire European automotive sector, Mediaset +5,76% also benefiting from speculative hypotheses on extraordinary transactions that could involve Telecom and Vivendi, Exor +5,72% and Yoox +5,16%. Eni also rose +2,81%.

On the other hand, Telecom Italia after lthe appointment of Flavio Cattaneo as managing director arrived in the afternoon. The stock closed down slightly at -0,31%.

At the bottom of the basket of blue chips, however, we find the banks: Ubi -3,97%, Unicredit -3,43%, Banco Popolare -3,15%, Mps -2,42% and Mediobanca -2,01%.
