Saipem in joint venture selected for LNG in Mozambique

Saipem announces that the Joint Venture that the company has formed with Chiyoda and CB&I (CCS JV) has been selected as the contractor for the initial development of the onshore LNG park in Mozambique by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation also on behalf of its partners in Area 1 of the Mozambique Offshore. The selection of the “CCS” JV is conditional on the negotiation and stipulation of a definitive agreement before the Final Investment Decision (FID) by Anadarko and its partners.

The initial activities of the onshore LNG farm foresee two trains for the treatment of liquefied natural gas, each with an annual capacity of 6 million tonnes, two LNG storage tanks, condensate storage, multi-berth marine wharf as well as associated services and infrastructure.

The CCS JV has a long-standing relationship with Anadarko and its partners for the planning and development of this project, and will leverage the significant experience of the three companies in the LNG sector for the successful completion of the onshore LNG park in Mozambique.
