The collaboration agreement with Siemens aims to improve the performance and reduce the costs of submarine control systems – The agreement with Ntt Data, on the other hand, aims at the implementation of new solutions in shipyards and on ships.

Saipem makes agreements with Siemens and Ntt Data

Agreement between Saipem e Siemens on the technology of submarine control systems. The agreement between the two companies, as explained in a note, is aimed at "promoting and qualifying an open submarine control system for the Saipem Subsea Bus architecture based on the Siemens Subsea DigiGrid interface".

“The collaboration between Siemens and Saipem – continues the note – is part of the strategic objectives of both companies to offer innovative technological solutions to support the oil & gas industry that make it possible to exploit new opportunities that would otherwise be uneconomical and obtain better operating performance with a lower environmental impact. Through this collaboration Siemens and Saipem will be able to draw on the sharing of their resources and their excellent know-how”.

The open framework opens up new models of development and cooperation with the supply chain, and will allow for a reduction in costs through an innovative technological approach”.

The CEO of Siemens Tobiassen fraud adds: “Saipem has found an exceptional partner like Siemens, who shares the same interest for the introduction of the all-electric open framework systems in order to simplify the flexible digitization and automation solutions in the subsea industry”.

The one with Siemns, however, is not the only agreement entered into by Saipem in the last few hours. In fact, the company active in the oil sector has signed a collaboration agreement with Ntt Date aimed at the prototyping and implementation of new solutions in Saipem shipyards and ships.

The two companies will collaborate in the application of technologies such as wearable devices, the Internet of Things, cyber security, virtual and augmented reality, with the aim of improving efficiency and developing new business opportunities for the customers of the Italian contractor company, enhancing mutual excellence.
