SACE: new projects for 250 million in sub-Saharan Africa

The Italian insurance and financial group has announced a series of new operations to support exports and investments in the region, thanks to the risk-sharing partnership with the African Agency for Economic Development.

On the occasion of the Annual SACE Business Meetings in sub-Saharan Africa, the insurance and financial group lian has announced a series of new projects for an amount of 250 million euros intended to support exports and investments in the region characterized by significant growth potential, but with high levels of risk. Local businessesIn fact,  they need reliable technologies, ranging from machinery to electrical appliances, from infrastructure to building materials: all sectors in which Italian SMEs excel. To strengthen its intervention capacity in the region, SACE has developed a risk-sharing partnership with the African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI): started in 2009, with the acquisition of 10 million dollars of the capital of ATI by SACE, the cooperation was further strengthened in 2010 with the entry of SACE in the board of directors, and in 2011, with the activation of a permanent desk at ATI's headquarters in Nairobi.
