Sace: mission to Congo to support Italian businesses

In Congo, Italian exports have reported not particularly successful performances in recent years, but recent development plans could make it grow by a further increase of 80 million euros between 2015 and 2017. SACE is committed to supporting businesses Italians who want to answer the question coming from the Central African country.

Sace: mission to Congo to support Italian businesses

Yesterday ended the mission in Congo which began on 25 January and was led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) in which SACE, the Italian Export Credit Agency (ECA), also took part, which through his presence he reaffirmed his full support for Italian companies even in a context - more risky than new - such as the aforementioned African reality.

SACE's commitment comes to stimulate entry into a market that can offer good opportunities to companies that decide to enter it. Against the backdrop of the political tensions that have often characterized the Central African state, a public investment plan was recently announced for the improvement of national infrastructures which is also accompanied by the need to increase local development in the construction and tourism sectors, especially in view of the All-Africa Games, the African Olympics that will be hosted in the Congolese capital starting next September.

In recent years, Italian exports to the African country have reported not particularly successful performances (SACE itself speaks of an annual value of around 240 million euros) in areas such as mechanics, agricultural machinery, means of transport and metals but, with a GDP in constant growth of three points per year and the recent development plans launched by the national authorities, Italian exports, claims the ECA, could grow to reach an increase of another 80 million euros, between 2015 and 2017, if only they could respond promptly to the demand from the country and in any case through the support and commitment of SACE itself.
