SACE confirms commitment to Sukhoi Superjet 100

SACE confirms its commitment, signed in 2011, in support of the joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi and Sukhoi Holding for the production of the Sukhoi Superjet 100

On the occasion of the delivery of the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) to the Mexican airline Interjet announced at the Le Bourget International Aerospace Show, SACE confirms its commitment to support Superjet International (SJI), the j between the Italian Alenia Aermacchi (Finmeccanica group) and the Russian Sukhoi Holding.

The agreement, signed in 2011 together with the insurance-financial company Coface and the Russian development bank Vnesheconombank, provides for a tripartite division of the loan among the three signatories of the agreement.

Alessandro Castellano, CEO of SACE declared: “The Superjet International project represents a successful experience and an example of a profitable international collaboration, not only from an industrial point of view but also from a financial and commercial point of view. We are proud to be able to contribute to the support of the largest program implemented in this sector between Europe and Russia, which allows us to guarantee continuity of the excellence of Italian technology in the aeronautical sector".

The SSJ100 is a 100-seat regional jet, developed with Russian, Italian and French technology and supplies, and completed by Made in Italy interiors designed by Pininfarina. Interjet, the first airline on the western market to put this type of aircraft into service, has recently finalized an order for 20 SSJ100s, with an option for another 10.
