Saccomanni: "Euro too strong, ECB intervenes"

The euro has become too strong and the ECB must intervene to weaken it, in order to favor exporting companies. This was stated by the Minister of Economy, Fabrizio Saccomanni, in an interview with the Financial Times.

"The euro is now the strongest currency in the world, facing the dollar, the renmimbi, the pound and the Swiss franc", said the head of the treasury, specifying that "this must reflect the perception of the monetary policy line in Europe in the face of what other countries are doing now and will do in the immediate future. If I know the markets, they want to see some concrete action at some point, maybe before the end of the year."
