The board of directors of the San Raffaele foundation has approved the recovery plan for the hospital. The text, which will be filed with the bankruptcy court of Milan on Monday, provides for the spin-off of the clinical and research activities, to be subsequently assigned to a new company. The total investment will be 250 million and will be insured by Vittorio Malacalza and the IOR.
The hypothesis of the subsequent acquisition of the new hospital in Olbia is already being studied – explains San Raffaele. The agreements for the initiatives of the San Raffaele G. Giglio of Cefalù and the San Raffaele del Mediterraneo of Taranto are being defined.
A Foundation will also be created, controlled directly by the NewCo, which will have exclusively the task of safeguarding the original spirit of the Institute. At the same time, an assumption by the NewCo of liabilities estimated at around 500 million is envisaged.
