Ryanair, canceled flights: Antitrust threatens maxi fine

The Agcm has decided to launch a non-compliance proceeding against Ryanair, which now runs the risk of having to pay a maxi fine of 5 million euros.

Therefore, the problems continue for the Irish carrier, after the storm of canceled flights and protests from pilots and flight crew. And the Antitrust decision is closely related to the events of recent months.

The Irish company would be guilty, according to the Authority, of not having correctly informed passengers about their rights following the cancellation of flights. The decision came after the warning that the Antitrust had issued to Ryanair on 25 October.

Since that date nothing has changed, quite the contrary. Ryanair not only did not send any communication to the Antitrust, but it didn't even bother to implement actions aimed at complying with the provision. Direct communications to Italian consumers and the immediate availability of information on the website continue to be lacking.
