Ryanair, profit boom in the first quarter: +152%

Following the excellent profits in the first quarter, the Irish low-cost firm has revised upwards its forecasts for the full year 2014/15: it now estimates a net profit of between 620 and 650 million euros (against a previous forecast which indicated a range between 580 and 620 million).

Ryanair closed the first quarter of the 2014-15 fiscal year with a profit boom of 196,8%, equal to 152 million. The airline benefited from the Easter holiday period which was not included in the previous year's comparison period. Following the profits of the first quarter, the Irish low-cost company has therefore revised upwards its forecasts for the full year 2014/15.

Now we estimate a net profit of between 620 and 650 million euros (against a previous forecast which indicated a range between 580 and 620 million) and an annual increase in passengers of 5% to 86 million (against the previous +4% to 84,6 .XNUMX million). "We caution analysts and investors against any irrational exuberance in what continues to remain a challenging economic environment, with company-specific difficulties in the second half," Ryanair warned. In particular, pressure on ticket prices is expected in the second half of the year due to competition.
