Russia 2018, Italy-Spain challenge in Turin

Tonight at the Juventus Stadium, a great classic of European football from recent years is back on stage: this time Italy-Spain is worth (although it's still early) a place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The rematch, three months later. This time between Italy and Spain there is not a quarter-final of the European Championship at stake, but qualification for the 2018 Russian World Cup, even if that of the Juventus Stadium is only one of the first steps that will decide the group a year from now. Italy won 2-0 at the European Championships in France, and for many that defeat was the end of a cycle for La Roja, which began with the victory against Italy which opened the door to victory at the 2008 European Championships.

The two national teams have changed their coaches since the last game: Del Bosque out, Lopetegui in, Conte (who now coaches Chelsea), space for the former Turin coach Gian Piero Ventura. Also noteworthy is the farewell of Casillas, the great protagonist of Spain's golden years, while Gigi Buffon will still be in the game. And then many new features, such as the return of the Neapolitan Callejon with the Red Furies and the call-up of the Italian Sansone, who now plays for Villarreal in La Liga.

For Italy, however, little news in the starting 11 compared to the match three months ago: Romagnoli takes the place of the suspended Chiellini and Bonaventura takes over Giaccarini, who is not yet at the top. In the Roja there will be Isco and above all Saul, surprisingly excluded from France 2016 amidst the controversy.
