Scrapping bis folders: the excluded return to installments

Good news for those who have also been excluded from the bis scrapping of tax bills. THE'Revenue Agency - Collection announced that it will launch a “compliance operation” in the coming weeks. Translation: the beyond 60 thousand taxpayers who joined the amnesty, but then they did not settle the payments by 7 December, thus definitively losing the right to be scrapped, will be able to return to the old installment plans.

The financial administration will send letters to these people explaining that they can go back to the past. In fact, the provision concerns taxpayers who had an installment plan in place for tax bills when they asked to be able to access the scrapping. Having skipped this possibility, they can now reactivate that procedure.

Compared to scrapping it is clearly less convenient, because does not include a discount on penalties and interest. However, the possibility of splitting the payment up to a maximum of 72 installments (6 years) or even 120 (10 years), depending on the economic conditions, it still represents a significant advantage.

In the letters, the Agency will communicate the residual debt of the tax bills and the new deadlines for payment of installments. The procedure does not involve additional charges, but be careful: it is the last train to get on. Anyone who misses even this opportunity to return to the installment plan will find themselves having to deal with the strong ways of the Agency, from foreclosures to mortgages.

With the company tax decree linked to the 2018 Budget law subjects who, despite having presented the application by 21 April last, had not paid the first installment or both installments due respectively on 31 July and 30 September were readmitted for scrapping. The readmission was conditional on the payment of the unpaid installments by 7 December 2017. The Agenzia delle Entrate – Riscossione will send the letters to those who have also missed this deadline.

All the others (those who directly adhered to the bis scrapping and who forfeited the old provision who complied by 7 December) will be able to send the request to adhere to the bis scrapping of the tax bills by 15 May. This time the scrapping covers a particularly large period, from 2000 to 2017.
