RomeFlex: the project by Areti (Acea group) for the flexibility of the distribution networks in Rome

Areti, a company controlled by ACEA, Has published on its website the public consultation to allow its customers to participate in the pilot project “RomeFlex – Reshaping Operational Methods to run grid FLEXibility" to achieve a electricity grid flexibility market on the territory of Roma, as required by ARERA Resolution 352/2021.

RomeFlex project: how does it work?

The project "RomeFlex” aims to guarantee the automation of all market phases; through the use of BlockChainin fact, total transparency and immediate certification of all economic transactions and technical reporting of the successful supply of the service will be guaranteed.

"RomeFlex” was already being tested in some neighborhoods, now, the project extends to the entire city.

Customers who want to join the project will be able to do so by participating in the so-called “term auctions” to provide flexibility in the long term or with daily economic offers, through the so-called “daily spot market” to solve specific network criticalities with better economic conditions than those of forward auctions.

Everyone can participate in the initiative clients that I'm able to modulate their consumption/production (Balancing Service Providers, BSP), from individual 3kW users to large generation or consumption plants which will therefore be able to offer their flexibility services to Areti, both individually and in aggregate form (also through energy communities).
