Today the University of Roma Tre confers the honorary degree in European Studies to Joseph Halevi Horowitz Weiler, a great scholar of European integration, who for the occasion will hold a lectio magistralis entitled "The moral currency of Europe".
The conferral ceremony will be held today starting at 16 pm, price in the Aula Magna of the Rectorate, in via Ostiense 159. The rector Guido Fabiani, Francesco Guida, dean of the faculty of Political Sciences and Giulio Napolitano, full professor of Public Law Institutions, who will give a laudatio.
Joseph Halevi Horowitz Weiler, born in 1951 in Joannesburg, teaches at the School of Law of New York University where he directs the international research centers Jean Monnet Center, the Strauss Institute and the Tikva Center. His studies focus above all on the role of cultural values in the founding process of a true and profound union between European states.
