Rome: Raggi appoints 2 new councilors

Two new entries in the junta led by Virginia Raggi. LThe first citizen of Rome has appointed two new councilors: Margherita Gatta at Public Works and Rosalba Castiglione at Heritage and Housing Policies.

Both are activists of the 5 Star Movement. As for the Heritage, until a few days ago lthe proxy was in the hands of the Councilor for the Budget, Andrea Mazzillo, who decided to put her back in controversy with the mayor.

“Two highly experienced professionals are joining our team – says Raggi – who I am sure will make an important contribution in two strategic and delicate sectors of the administration. I asked Margherita and Rosalba to make their skills available to carry out our government program for the revitalization of the city".

“First of all – comments Margherita Gatta – I would like to thank the mayor Virginia Raggi for the trust shown in me. It is a challenge that I accept with a great sense of responsibility but also with determination. The public works sector is one of those that has been most affected by the tsunami of the capital Mafia. Compared to the past, this administration has reversed course and will continue its action along the line of legality. The priority is road maintenance. The resources are there and several construction sites have already started”.

Gatta, 55, graduated in law in 1992, worked for the National Insurance Fund for freelance engineers and architects (Inarcassa), worked as a manager in the contracts office of the administration and control department.

Castiglione, a 48-year-old Sicilian, lawyer, expert in real estate and bankruptcy law, former consultant for a couple of real estate companies.

But the news from Rome does not concern only the junta. Virginia Raggi presented an objection to the Water Court to contest the provision that postponed the stop to water collection from the lake. The tug of war between the Capitol and the Lazio Region therefore continues.

"I learned that the Mayor of Rome, through an appeal to the Water Court, has appealed against the second and last order issued by President Zingaretti through which the rationing of the water service in Rome was avoided and, consequently, confirmed the continuation of water collection in Bracciano until next 31 August. For Raggi, withdrawals not only must not be blocked at the end of the month, but must last over time and without rules according to Acea's exclusive needs". This was revealed by the Pd deputy, Emiliano Minnucci.
