Rome, the Atac referendum fails the quorum

Nothing to be done for the liberalization of public transport in Rome as an antidote to the bankruptcy management of the Atac bandwagon, the municipal company of the capital which is on the verge of bankruptcy. The Atac referendum, promoted by the Radicals, did not reach the quorum and therefore is not considered valid, even if official data is still awaited.

To reach the quorum, at least 750 voters out of 2 would have had to participate in the referendum, but participation stopped at around 400, equal to 300% of those entitled to vote.

The Radicals have denounced many bureaucratic obstacles and serious irregularities (above all regarding the compulsory or non-compulsory electoral card) which have hampered participation in the vote, in addition to the very little institutional information, but the numbers still reject the consultation.

The Atac emergency, which is collapsing and which the Giunta Raggi has not been able to deal with in the slightest, will therefore have to be resolved politically, even if for now it is not clear how.
