Rome: excluding the Fassina lists

Technical errors in the presentation of lists for the municipal elections in June can cost dearly to both Rome and Milan. Two twists have shaken the electoral campaign in the last few hours.

In Rome, the Electoral Commission excluded, due to technical errors in the presentation of electoral forms, the lists of Stefano Fassina (Si-Sel) who has announced an appeal but who risks being cut out of the race for mayor. If Fassina's exclusion is confirmed, both Roberto Giachetti's Pd and Virginia Raggi's M5S should benefit, both of which could find themselves competing in the ballot.

In Milan, on the other hand, technical errors in the presentation of the lists cost the exclusion of Fratelli d'Italia, who, like Fassina in Rome, announced an immediate appeal which, if rejected, would risk damaging the center-right candidate, Stefano Parisi who is contending Beppe Sala of the centre-left is elected mayor.
