Rome and Naples ok, the run-up continues

Rome and Naples do not give up: they both win and send a signal to Juve – Spalletti's Giallorossi play poker against Toro (4-1) while Sarri's team conquers Verona by beating Chievo 3-1

Rome and Naples ok, the run-up continues

Rome and Naples do not give up. If someone wanted an answer from the first pursuers of the leaders Juventus, they certainly weren't disappointed: Giallorossi and Azzurri won two very important victories, thus giving a signal to the Bianconeri (still firmly in command) and, above all, to those chasing in the standings.

Next Sunday there will be a clash between Inter and Roma that promises sparks, but also one between Napoli and Atalanta which, classification in hand, has substantially the same value: showing up with yesterday's 3 points, in short, guarantees at least a psychological advantage from the start .

Above all, the Giallorossi are celebrating, maintaining an extremely important second place in the standings. Beating Turin wasn't obvious, especially after seeing all the direct pursuers win. But Roma, not at all exhausted by Thursday's European commitment, knew how to approach the match with great concentration and commitment, it is no coincidence that they found themselves 2-0 up after not even 20' of play.

The usual Dzeko (10') cleared the impasse, doubling Salah (17'): two very beautiful goals, but not even remotely comparable to Paredes' jewel, splendid in piercing Hart's goal with a ground-to-air missile from outside area (66'). Maxi Lopez's goal was only used for the match score (84'), as was that of Nainggolan (91'), yet another center in this very prolific season.

“The boys were good, after the victory in the Europa League there was the risk of not having the right pace – commented Spalletti – Instead we immediately got into the game well, pressing from the first minute and showing our qualities. We have to continue like this, trying to see victory as a continuous nagging."

Positive day also for Napoli, who thus got rid of the Madrid dross by finding a very important success in Verona. Sarri's team was called to win by points in the standings, of course, but also to overcome the problems that arose during the week, when De Laurentiis thundered against everything and everyone (especially with Sarri) for the defeat against Real.

A test of character was needed to forget or at least to put all this aside and the Azzurri found it, albeit with a two-faced performance. In fact, the first hour of Napoli was excellent, not surprisingly closed on a 3-0 which could have been even wider.

But after the goals of Insigne (his splendid right-footed shot "alla Del Piero" in the 31st minute), Hamsik (38', exploiting a mess by Gobbi and Sorrentino) and Zielinski (58', shot deflected by Spolli), the Azzurri they showed the usual drop in concentration that could even reopen the game.

Meggiorini's goal (72') was followed by several opportunities for Chievo: there will never be a counter-match but the feeling that, in the event of a 2-3 draw, the final would have been on fire is quite strong. However, that of Napoli remains a festive Sunday, however, stained by some shadows.

First of all the performance of Pavoletti, launched by Sarri and once again proving himself to be a foreign body to the mechanisms of the blue 4-3-3, and then the rigidity of the coach himself: it's fine to persevere with one's ideas, but every now and then a little ' of more tactical flexibility (why not switch to a more defensive system in the final?) wouldn't hurt.
