Rome, New Year's Eve 2020: big concert and all the appointments

If you want to spend New Year's Eve in Rome in the square, the classic appointment for all Romans is at the Fori Imperiali, where every year national and international artists come to cheer up New Year's Eve. Other places to celebrate New Year's Eve in Rome are Piazza del Quirinale, Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia and Piazza di Spagna.

The Rome Film Fest 2020 is dedicated to the theme of the Earth and the relationship between man and Nature. An ode to the extraordinary beauty, vitality and grandeur of Nature, which will start on the evening of December 31st at the Circus Maximus and which will continue for 24 hours, like the cycle of a day and like the time of a rotation of our planet.

The five ecosystems will coexist and contaminate each other in the vast area available to the party: the world of ice and fresh water, the colorful world of pastures and prairies, the world of deserts, the world of jungles, forests and woods and the world of the sea. 

The Rome Fest will begin on December 31st at the Circus Maximus from 21 pm. Ascanio Celestini will open the evening, who will entertain the public by telling an unpublished tale specially written on the theme of the Earth. With him on the stage there will be the music of the Rustica X band, a large band of children and adolescents born within the day center of the ONLUS social cooperative "Nuove Risposte".

From 22pm, the Andalusian company Aerial Jockey Strada will perform, for the first time in Italy, the aerial dance show Sylphes, with choreography by Eduardo Zúñiga, directed by Roberto Strada and the successful co-production with Musica per Roma. After midnight, the Dj Set of Skin, pop rock icon, leader of the London band Skunk Anansie will start.

Rome Parade: 

On 1 January 2020, the traditional New Year's parade takes place in the area between Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna. Coinciding with the London New Year Parade, the event will bring to Rome thousands of young musicians directly from the United States, folk groups and majorettes from Croatia and Italy.

It will be the Croatian Nedelišće Majorettes and the numerous members of the Varsity Spirit All-American Dancers & Cheerleaders formation, the Associazione Bandistica Citta di Mentana & Majorettes and the Asd Majorettes Medullia which number more than 25 members, who will rotate the sticks and perform movements on famous international pop hits.

The parade will start on January 1, 2020 at 15pm. The route is: Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso, Via dei Condotti, Piazza di Spagna, Via del Babuino, Via di Ripetta, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Via del Corso and back to Piazza del Popolo.

THEATER:

• Music Park Auditorium – Sala Santa Cecilia: You can spend New Year's Eve with Gigi Proietti and his flagships. The artist will be accompanied in his performances by 25 elements of the orchestra directed by maestro Mario Vicari, a corps de ballet and actors from his workshop. 
• Auditorium of the Conciliation: "I dream and I am awake 500 times", a talented Massimo Ranieri who sings and dances, capable of conveying his feelings and emotions to the public, offers the best of his repertoire.
• Brancaccio Theater: “Add a seat at the table”, a musical whose story is freely inspired by David Forrest's “After me the deluge”. The arrival of the universal flood is communicated directly to Don Silvestro da Dio, who invites him to build a new ark for himself and the inhabitants of his mountain village. Despite the mayor's hostility, he manages to build his ark, and when it seems that the time has come to get on the ark, the fellow villagers withdraw convinced by a cardinal sent from Rome not to follow Don Silvestro, considered crazy. In the end, only he and Clementina, the mayor's young daughter, find themselves on the ark and under the flood, but when the flood begins to submerge the town, the young parish priest decides not to abandon his fellow villagers and leaves the ark. In the end God, having seen the results, withdraws from his project and stops the flood. So Don Silvestro to celebrate the event adds a place at the table for… Him!
• Margherita salon: Valeria Marini elected to the Quirinale, the first female president of the Republic, a new era begins and the people celebrate.
• Ghione Theatre: A succession of laughter and paradoxical situations in the "Supper of the Cretins", a very successful French comedy. Every week a group of friends organizes a dinner where each of them brings with them an "idiot".
• Sistine Theater: "Mary Poppins the musical", the magical story of the most famous nanny in the world, always gives great emotions to today's kids but also to those of the past.
• The Elf Factory: On December 31st at the Fabbrica degli Efi the party entitled "The year to come" comes to life, waiting for 2020 where those present will celebrate the arrival of the new year immersed in a huge space with the typical Christmas atmosphere.
• Furio Camillus Theatre: At 22 pm the show Yeah! will start. On New Year's Eve, Miss Tip and ScannaMago will involve all the audience in an interactive way: fun is guaranteed.
• San Genesio Theater: The name of this year's show is "One Christmas leads to another": the protagonist is the ice princess, accompanied by her helpers, two cute penguins with whom she made a long journey from Lapland to tell a story full of mystery and magic. This fairy tale contains the most beautiful Christmas stories, with a sequence of events related to the legends and myths of Santa Claus.

MUSIC:

• Music Park Auditorium – Sala Sinopoli: as part of the Rome Gospel Festival, the best US gospel groups will perform, Danell Daymon & Greater Works will excite the audience with their innovative music, an engaging gospel-pop.
• Music Park Auditorium – Sala Santa Cecilia: “Roma Caput Musicae 2020”, on 1 January the Gerardo Di Lella Grand Orchestra reinterprets the classic New Year's concert with an innovative proposal and bringing new Italian sounds into 2020. A musical journey among the soundtracks of Nuovo cinema Paradiso, Once upon a time in the west, Who ever, a yellow Rolls Royce, Rocco and His Brothers, I Vitelloni, Put a night at dinner, My friends, Life is beautiful, Anonymous Venetian.
