Roland Garros, super-Errani: Radwanska beaten, "Sarita" returns to the semifinals

The red clay of Paris is magical for Sara Errani, who beats Agnieszka Radwanska and returns to the semifinals at Roland Garros. An hour and 53 minutes of play, 6-4 7-6 the score. The tennis player from Romagna thus scores another historic result, also defeating predictions and statistics. The precedents were clearly in favor of the Pole, number three in the world, who had won six direct matches out of seven. "Sarita" however takes the field with great conviction, managing for the first time in her career to beat a top-5 player.

Of course, the difficult moments are missing. Especially in the second set, when the blue serves for the match at 5-4, but Radwanska takes her serve away. The battle continues until the tie-break, closed by the Italian for 8-6, at the second match point. Thus Errani repeats last year's exploit, when she reached the final of the French slam, where she was defeated by the Russian Maria Sharapova. To reach the last stage of the tournament again, “Sarita” will have to overcome the winner of the quarterfinal between Serena Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova. Whatever happens, Errani will start underdog. As in the quarterfinals, after all.
