Rixi (Lega): "No stop for Tav and Third Pass"- VIDEO

Of the TAV "the majority will discuss it, but in my opinion there is more talk of a revision of the project than of a stop". That his party, the League, had no doubts about the realization of the great works this was very obvious, even if within the Government it is known that there are positions, sometimes even very distant, such as the one reiterated in the last few hours by the pentastellato minister Toninelli. But the will of the League, the party of the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Edoardo Rixi, is clear knowing the will of the business world, which is to carry out major works to produce effects on the economy through important investments. The TAV remains a project to be implemented because a modern country must be equipped with infrastructures in step with the times as they say from many quarters. A work of 25 years ago, recalls Rixi, useful because we need to strengthen the goods transport system, especially the railways, in view of the increase in traffic that will occur on the Mediterranean Sea and therefore on Italian ports.

The TAV project is co-financed by Italy, France and the European Commission and therefore any revision of the work must be agreed upon with the three subjects. The definitive opinion on the cost-benefit analysis from the Ministry will arrive in the next few weeks, but its non-realization would call into question the disposal of goods in northern Italy, recalls Rixi.

Another great work on which the Government is paying attention to go ahead is that of the Third Pass, here, the exponent of the League, underlines the broad parliamentary consensus in realizing it, "it is embarrassing that the governments preceding the have been blocked several times”, the realization of the same would allow the completion of the first Italian corridor recalls the Deputy Minister. The goal is to complete the Third Pass by 2024, moving on from the construction of the Apennine Pass Tunnel by early 2023, bringing the conclusion forward with respect to 2028.

Another delicate issue on which the Italian government draws attention is certainly that of the possible sanctions against the port authorities of our country by the European Commission (the Spanish situation is identical to the Italian one). Today the port authorities are considered by us as non-economic public bodies (Delrio reform) as opposed to the Commission which considers them as real companies subject to taxation. There is the will to find a solution, underlines RIxi, In late spring a reform project will be presented which will allow us, as a country, to invest in our ports by claiming the possibility of being a great naval-maritime power.

On the subject of road haulage, on the other hand, Rixi recalled the interventions on the 2019 budget law such as the extension of the fuel discounts on Italian road haulage (already provided for in the past) also for the following years, the incentive on the hiring of under 35 drivers and more measures again.

On electric mobility there will be a strengthening of the initiatives, in addition to those already implemented, focusing, among others, on the reduction of emissions, the strengthening of the network to supply electric mobility and the revision of the highway code.

Finally, on the age-old Taxi-NCC issue "we have decided to address the problems and not sweep them under the carpet as has always been done" concludes the Deputy Minister, the law has not been extended further but to amend it, provincial and no longer municipal as well as 3 months of suspension of sanctions with the aim of making the NCC operate. It will be essential to find a synthesis between the two categories in order not to allow important international groups to eliminate Italian companies, clear rules with a regional dimension avoiding taking licenses to operate elsewhere. Not to hit anyone, but to regulate the market.
