"It is a very serious problem which we must think about in order to get out of this situation, because 1.500 jobs that are lost in our country are another dramatic blow for 1.500 families". This was stated by the president of Confindustria, Giorgio Squinzi, when questioned on the sidelines of Atreju on the situation of the Riva group, which yesterday ceased all activities of the Riva Acciaio company (which does not include Ilva), including the production of plants in Verona, Caronno Pertusella (Varese), Lesegno (Cuneo), Malegno, Sellero, Cerveno (Brescia) and Annone Brianza (Lecco) and services and transport (Riva Energia and Muzzana Trasporti).
"I think it takes some common sense to discuss and find a balanced solution," added Squinzi.
According to the company, the decision was communicated to the custodian of the precautionary assets, Mario Tagarelli, and illustrated to the union representatives of the various plants involved.
