One year up for the leader in barcode scanners. The Datalogic group closed 2011 with the best results ever. Net profit jumped 44% to 25,9 million euros. Revenues increased by 8,3% to 425,5 million euros and Ebitda grew to 59,2 million. The net financial position is negative at 59,4 million euros but an improvement compared to the 76,5 million of the previous year. The Board has proposed a dividend of 15 cents per share, with coupon detachment on April 30th and payment on May 4th.

The Chief Executive Officer of Datalogic, Mauro Bag, commented that he was "very satisfied with the results achieved in 2011, by far the best achieved by the Group, also considering that they were obtained in a still uncertain economic context and that strategic internal management projects have been implemented". The CEO said he was confident for the current year, declaring that "2012 will be an important year characterized by the operational integration of the newly acquired companies necessary to support Datalogic's global growth and ensure a more balanced international presence.”

To keep the 2011 standard the Group will aim to grow in emerging countries (especially in the BRICS) and “to improve its presence in mature, high-value-added countries such as the USA and Europe, where we have gained market share in recent years”.

Lastly, Borsetto recalled that the innovations introduced in 2011 have not slowed down the Group's capacity for organic growth, "which remains the strategic basis on which to build future expansion".
