The asset management sector returned to growth in February, after the sharp slowdown in December 2013 (-582 million euro) and January 2014 (-1,51 billion), which had put an end to a positive series lasting all the first eleven months of last year. In fact, according to data released by Assogestioni, subscriptions reached 11,8 billion euro in February, the highest level since 1998.
In addition to deposits, assets also set a new record, rising to 1.362,5 billion (1.334,8 billion the previous month). In February, portfolio management, which represents 55% of assets, returned to profit at 5,38 billion, thanks to the +4,82 billion recorded by institutional investors and the +553 million recorded by retail. The remaining portion, represented by collective management, was positive by 6,43 billion from 3,9 in January, thanks to the growth of open funds.
