Savings, funds: funding slows down in October

According to the monthly map by Assogestioni, growth halved in October compared to September – Bond funds are confirmed as the most chosen by savers

A October the Italian industry of managed savings posted a positive balance of one billion euros, almost half compared to the September result (+1,9 billion). The data is contained in the monthly map of Assogestioni, which also shows that managed assets it fell to 2.275 billion, after the record of 2.284 billion recorded in September. Since the beginning of the year, the overall net inflows of the industry amounted to +59,6 billion, including 53 billion of movements within the Poste group in January.

Decisive for the positive flow trend in October were portfolio management (+1,09 billion, after the +873 million in September). Bad instead collective management (-51 million, after +1 billion).  

In detail, portfolio management performed particularly well retail (+356 million, after +164 million in September; +165 million since the beginning of the year). The institutional mandates mark +735 million, after +709 million, to a total of 57,9 billion.

Among the collective managements, the funds are decreasing open (-225 million, after +808 million; -689 million since January), while the funds closed are confirmed in positive territory (+174 million, after +193 million; +2,2 billion since the beginning of the year).

The funds bonds they are confirmed as the most chosen, with net inflows close to 2 billion, after +1,2 billion in September, to a total of +10,3 billion in 10 months.

Positive trend also for fundraising equity (+1,1 billion, after +478 million in September, even if total deposits since January remain in the red at -4,5 billion).

Regulate the march of funds balanced (+774 million after +724 million, to +3,6 billion since the beginning of the year), while the exodus from flexible (-1,8 billion, after -713 million in September; -11,5 billion since January).

It's even worse for funds monetary, which closed the month at -2,1 billion, after -591 million in September and inflows since the beginning of the year decreased to +2,3 billion.

As regards the nationality of the funds, those of Italian law show a negative balance of movements of 341 million, after -974 million in September (-10,5 billion since January), while those of foreign law they mark +116 million, after +1,8 billion (+9,8 billion since the beginning of the year).

Among the major operators, for October Assogestioni attributes to the group Generali net outflows of 878 million euro, with assets of 522,3 billion, equal to 23,6% of the total.

The group Intesa Sanpaolo on the other hand, it recorded positive flows of +1,3 billion (Eurizon +671,6 million and Fideuram +634 million), with assets under management of 415,5 billion (18,8%).

Amundi net deposits in October amounted to +497 million and assets totaled 193 billion (8,7%).

Soul Holding shows a balance of flows of +309,5 million and assets under management amount to 189 billion (8,5%).

Poste Italiane it recorded outflows of 436 million, deriving from institutional management which marked -455 million, with assets of 95,6 billion (4,3%).

Mediolanum it marks +76 million in flows and assets for 51,6 billion (2,3%).

Allianz movements show -354 million, with assets of 51,5 billion (2,3%).

Finally, Axa Im it recorded outflows of 121 million and assets of 44,7 billion.
