Trade Unions and the Emilia-Romagna Regional Agency for the Environment ARPAE they have agreed to give prizes and incentives to workers who adopt good gas and light containment practices in the office. The "Action plan for energy savings and efficiency” is the first example in Italy of self-discipline during working hours. Moreover, ARPAE also participates in projects financed by the European Union and is a point of reference in Italy for the OECD for some environmental activities.

The document signed with the RSU indicates what to actually do in the office for don't waste energy. For example, the use of heating, the correct use of personal computers, printers, superfluous lighting, use of lifts and electrical appliances that can be on standby. Consumption will be checked and compared with that of the previous two years. It is an example of internal micro-circularity, probably destined to be imitated by other small and medium-sized companies. The trade unions are satisfied to participate in an eco-sustainable strategy which recognizes the energy saving in the office a non-secondary role in the environmental battle. Indeed, says the general manager Joseph Bortone– the agreement is not just a symbolic act. “The Agency, already committed to improving the energy efficiency of its offices with substantial investments, also wants to directly involve its staff, inviting them to adopt an attitude of responsibility and civic sense, through the adoption of virtuous and aware behaviors for the rational use of energy in a difficult moment for the country”. The direction ofARPAE Yes and then, icommitted to concretely recognizing these employee behaviors. The agreement has, in fact, an incentive project for individual employees. Will energy savings really be made? “It is a measure win-win, adds Bortone, as simple daily actions contribute to national energy savings, have a positive impact on the ARPAE budget and make an economic contribution to the families of male and female workers ”.
