Plasmon biscuits become Italian, while the Winx fairies, who are from the Marches, buy Canadian Ninja Turtles. It is the other face of Made in Italy: alongside the home-grown companies that throw themselves into foreign arms (the latest case to cause a stir was that of Grom ice creams, passed into the Anglo-Dutch hands of Unilever) there is also a network of Italian companies that are shopping across the border.
It is the case Newlat e Rainbow, two brands little known to the general public, but protagonists of their respective sectors. The first is an Emilian food group that boasts a turnover of almost half a billion euros, so much so that it can afford to buy the plant that produces Plasmon biscuits by the multinational Kraft Heinz.
The second, however, is the name of the animation company he created the Winx: cartoon characters (and not only) with worldwide success. A fortune that has allowed Rainbow to be able to afford the purchase of the Canadian Bardel Entertainment, precisely the parent company of Ninja Turtles.
