Renewables, Algeria's green turning point. Agreement with Res4Med

Res4Med and Sonelgaz have signed a three-year cooperation agreement in which they undertake to share their know-how on renewable sources and energy efficiency - The agreement bears witness to Algeria's green turnaround: the North African state is aiming for 27% of production of electricity from renewable sources by 2030

Renewables, Algeria's green turning point. Agreement with Res4Med

Renewable Energy Solutions for the Mediterranean (RES4MED) and the Société Algérienne de l'Electricité et du Gaz (Sonelgaz) signed a three-year cooperation agreement in Algiers to conduct studies in the renewable energy sector.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of Sonelgaz, Noureddine Boutarfa and the President of RES4MED, the CEO of Enel Green Power Francesco Venturini.

With the agreement RES4MED and Sonelgaz undertake to share their know-how on renewable sources and energy efficiency, discussing technological innovations, the development of new regulatory frameworks, financing mechanisms and the implementation of demonstration projects, in order to develop innovative business models rooted in the Algerian context.

The agreement between RES4MED and Sonelgaz shows how theAlgeria is undertaking the road to the development of renewable energies decisively. Indeed, the Algerian Government has decided to pursue very ambitious objectives to encourage the growth of the sector, with the aim of reaching, by 2030, 27% of the production of electricity from renewable sources.
