Enel he signed in Chile the largest contract for the supply of energy from renewable sources in terms of annual volumes in the group's history. The agreement provides that the subsidiary Enel Generacion Chile will supply the mining multinational for 10 years Anglo-American up to 3 TWh per year of renewable energy to meet the energy consumption of the mining company in the country.

The renewable energy supplied by Enel Generación Chile will allow AngloAmerican to reduce total CO70 emissions in Chile by more than 2%.. The agreement will be active starting from 2021.

Through the Enel Green Power business line, the Italian group already supplies renewable energy to industrial and commercial customers such as Facebook, Google or BBVA.

Enel operates in Chile through Enel Chile and its subsidiaries: Enel Generación Chile and Enel Green Power Chile in generation, Enel Distribución Chile in distribution, and Enel X Chile in the advanced energy solutions sector.

In terms of installed capacity, Enel is the most important electricity company in Chile with around 7.500 MW, of which 4.700 MW from renewables, which include over 3.500 MW from hydro, over 600 MW from wind, around 500 MW from solar and around 40 MW from geothermal energy.

Enel in Chile sold approximately 23,2 TWh of electricity in 2018, has 1,9 million customers and over 2.000 employees. Enel Américas is also based in the country, through which the Group operates in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
