Reforms, Senate: ok to the "kangaroo", the amendments on article 1 lapse

Canguro approved with 177 yes, 157 no and 2 abstentions – All other proposed amendments to article 1 of the text of the law on constitutional reforms lapse.

The kangaroo passes in the Senate Chamber, that is the amendment signed by Roberto Cociancich (Pd) capable of nullifying all the other proposed amendments to article 1 of the text of the law on constitutional reforms. The work continues, amid shouts and protests by the opposition, and moves on to article 2.

Protests from the opposition benches accusing, among other things, the senator of being a "front man" of a major figure in the Democratic Party. The green light came with 20 votes: 177 yes, 157 no and 2 abstentions.

On a technical level, the kangaroo is a parliamentary anti-blockbuster measure that allows you to vote on amendments by grouping not only the same ones, but also those of similar content. Once the first amendment is rejected or approved, all the others fall.
