Reforms, Renzi: "Go ahead alone". The oppositions leave

“If the others vote, fine. Otherwise, the Democratic Party will go ahead even on its own”. Matteo Renzi said this to the deputies of the Democratic Party in the assembly of the group convened in Montecitorio on the reform of the Senate and Title V, after the decision of M5S, Sel and Lega to leave the Chamber to protest against the imposed river session by the majority.

The decision was also shared by Forza Italia, by the former M5S of "Alternativa libera" and by Fratelli d'Italia, who left the Chamber due to the "arrogance shown by the majority and by the premier", said Fabio Rampelli.

“We will not allow anyone to block the path of constitutional reform – said Renzi -. We have sought mediation in all locations. Now we are at a crossroads", because the opposition aims "not to improve Italy but to slow down and block the government".

As for the Pd minority, Stefano Fassina and Pippo Civati have announced that, while remaining in the Chamber, they will not participate in the votes following the abandonment of M5s, Sel, Lega and Fdi.

“If the threat on the constitutional reform is 'vote for it yourself', it's their problem – sunk the Premier -. Just as I didn't get blackmailed by Berlusconi for the Colle, I don't let Grillo blackmail me on the reforms. We close on Saturday, that's it. We do not accept honesty lessons from anyone nor lessons from those who lack transparency since the statute ”, he added referring to the M5S.
