Reform, trap in the Senate: "Vote by 8 August"

On the reforms under consideration by Parliament in recent days, the majority has chosen the most drastic option: limiting the times of the debate in the hall, otherwise known as a "trap", and voting on the reform bill by 8 August. The majority parties are thus responding to the opposition, which were willing to reduce the amendments in exchange for guarantees on the elective Senate, a rebalancing between the two Chambers and a referendum.

So it's still wall against wall, a conclusion of a hectic day at Palazzo Madama, dedicated to the Boschi constitutional reform bill, the "mother of all reforms" and still bogged down in the hall among over 7.800 amendments, almost all of them "of an obstructive nature" as claimed by the Ncd, and the request for a secret ballot in 900 cases.
