Public Administration Reform: the yes arrives from the Senate

comes the first ok to the bill on the reform of the Public Administration. The Senate gave the green light to the text with 144 in favour, none against and one abstention. The Pd, Alleanza Popolare and the Autonomie group voted in favor of the text, while the oppositions left the hall at the time of the vote.

Several innovations have been introduced by the Senate which has been working on the text in the Constitutional Affairs commission since the end of last summer: the most interesting are the opening up of a single center of fiscal medicine, centralizing controls on INPS; the crackdown on disciplinary actions; the ax on public companies; the new rules on the term of office of public managers. The latter will have a duration of four years; then they will be renewable for another two years without a selection procedure, but only once. In this regard, the government wanted to underline that, after six years, the manager will have to pass a new selection to be able to have a job again, always with the 4+2 formula.

The law was also approved which provides for the "reorganization of the police functions for the protection of the environment and the territory, as well as in the field of security and controls in the agri-food sector, with the reorganization of those of the Forest Rangers of the State and possible absorption of the same into those of the other Police Forces".

Now the ddl Sideboard it will go to the Chamber of Deputies for the second reading. The government's goal is to get a definitive yes on the bill by the summer.
