Liquid waste, Acea buys 60% of Berg

Acea enters the liquid waste business. The Roman utility has in fact finalized an agreement with the Eneracque company for the acquisition of the 60% of the capital you hold in Berg, a Frusinate company active, through a consolidated technology, precisely in the chemical / physical and biological treatment of liquid waste, or those deriving from industries. However, Eneracque will remain as a minority shareholder and will participate in the operational management of the company.

Berg owns a liquid waste treatment plant which was completely renovated in 2015, with a capacity of 143 thousand tons per year. Furthermore, the company is authorized to build two new plants, one for the concentration activity aimed at reducing the aqueous component of liquid waste and the other for the treatment of solid waste, with a capacity of 20 thousand tons per year. The economic value of the acquisition, in terms of enterprise value, for 100% of the company, is approximately 10 million euros. Following the operation, Berg will be fully consolidated by Acea, with an expected contribution to EBITDA, on an annual basis, of approximately 1,6 million euro.

“This operation – he commented Stefano Donnarumma, Chief Executive Officer of ACEA – represents an important step forward in the process of consolidating the group in the waste treatment sector which we plan to achieve through both the acquisition of new plants and by implementing further development actions. We also believe that the company, which operates in a reference area for the group such as the province of Frosinone, could be the vehicle for further industrial investments in the area”.
