Rider, Ilva, teachers amnesty: everything goes back to the high seas

The government falls and with it the latest decrees, approved "subject to agreements": they are not operational without the definitive go-ahead

Rider, Ilva, teachers amnesty: everything goes back to the high seas

Government in crisis, measures at risk. And so the first to remain a dead letter will be the last act of the Conte government: the decree law with the rule on riders and aid to companies in crisis, approved on August 6 with the formula "unless agreed" by the Council of Ministers without the definitive go-ahead, it remains in the drawer.

The decree provides that for riders, the company that owns the digital platform must take charge of the compulsory insurance coverage against accidents at work and occupational diseases. Mixed piecework is possible, i.e. remuneration paid as piecework to a non-prevailing extent, in addition to time-based pay. The basic hourly wage is recognized on condition that for each working hour the worker accepts at least one call. The text introduced soft guarantees, compared to what the young messengers asked for, but in any case strengthened the guarantees.

The Ilva question is very delicate. In fact, the same decree provides for some "time" guarantees for Arcelor Mittal managers engaged in the implementation of the environmental plan in the former Ilva, contains (modest) resources to save the Naples plant of Whirlpool (only 10 million), for the workers of Blutec in Termini Imerese, for those of the former Alcoa in Portovesme, for the crisis area of Isernia, extension to December of LSU projects expiring in October and provides for the stabilization of the precarious Anpal services.

The text must be definitively approved by the government, once the existence of the covers has been verified, and sent to the State Accounting Office for stamping, to be sent to the Head of State for promulgation. Otherwise these rules will remain written only on paper.

The fate of the second law decree on schools is similar, also the one passed "subject to agreements" by the council of ministers which contains, among other things, an amnesty for precarious teachers.
