Colombani (First Cisl): “Protocol on employment proposed to banks”

At the centre of the trade union agenda remain "the maintenance of employment levels , pay issue", Colombani declared. He then underlined that, in the last 20 years, the Italian banking system has lost 75 thousand jobs, even if the exits have occurred on a voluntary basis. The next aggregation operations could generate "significant cost synergies". In this regard, he added: "We cannot accept that a further concentration of the system translates into a new contraction of the workforce. For this reason, we have proposed to the banks to subscribe to a Protocol on employment".

On the salary front, Colombani stated: “Furthermore, we are not satisfied with the great result achieved on the salary front in the last renewal of the national contract. wages must rise further and profit sharing is a fundamental tool to achieve the objective”.
