Speed ​​up energy transition enhancing the electric recharging network in Italy. With this objective in mind, the 26 million euro loan contract finalized by Duferco Energia Spa with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Crédit Agricole Italia and the European Investment Bank was created, aimed at increasing the national network of charging stations with around 1.800 new columns. charging for electric cars. The project "represents our path in the energy transition process of our country", commented Marco Castagna, CEO of Duferco Energia. The project envisages the installation of ultra-fast, rapid and normal charging stations and their connection to the distribution networks, mainly located in the regions of central and northern Italy.

In detail, CDP and Cai have respectively granted two lines of 13 million euro, each of which uses 10 million of the EIB funding. Furthermore, the various tranches of the loan are backed by 80% of the Sace's green guarantee.

Furthermore, the operation is supported by the European Commission through the Debt Instrument and Transport Blending Facility with funds from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) through investments in infrastructure aimed at promoting competitive growth and employment in Europe.

Dario Scannapieco, CEO of CDP, reiterated the importance of combating climate change. “We believe it is essential to expand the recharging network in Italy, so as to make the use of electric vehicles increasingly accessible to all”.

While Pierfrancesco Latini, CEO of SACE, underlined the centrality of the Italian ecological transition in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. “This intervention represents our first green operation to support the creation of a recharging network for electric cars”.
