Rete Ferroviaria Italiana of the FS Group launches 18 new tenders for over 6,8 billion euros

RFI (Italian Railway Network), company of FS Group which manages the Italian railway infrastructure, has launched, in the last 48 hours, 18 new races for a total of over 6,8 billion euros.

Among the works are fundamental projects for the South

Among the main tenders launched, there are two i main projects which are essential for mobility in the south: the realization of the section Battipaglia-Romagnano, part of the new Salerno-Reggio Calabria high-speed line, worth over 2,16 billion euros financed with PNRR resources and the Fiumetorto – Lercara, on the Palermo – Catania – Messina road, of almost 1,5 billion euros which represents an important step towards the opening of all construction sites in 2023.

The other works concern: the Lombardia with the doubling of the Lombard lines Ponte San Pietro - Bergamo - Montello and Codogno - Cremona - Mantua, the quadrupling of the Milan Rogoredo - Pavia line and the upgrading of the Brescia airport; i Toscana with the design and construction of the doubling of the Empoli-Granaiolo line for a total of 158 million euro; there Campania with the tender for the completion of the Salerno underground on the Arechi - Pontecagnano Airport Costa d'Amalfi section, worth 180 million.

Exceeded 20 billion euros in 2022

The new tenders have made it possible to exceed 20 billion procedures initiated in 2022.

RFI closed the year by confirming thecommitment for the realization of the new strategic works aimed at redesigning the sustainable transport and decrease the gap infrastructure between Northern and Southern Italy.

The tenders launched do not only concern new infrastructural works, but also rehabilitation interventions acoustic with the installation of anti-noise barriers throughout the country, through a framework agreement worth over 1,38 billion euros.

Bandits too two framework agreements for extraordinary maintenance work to the railway infrastructure and one for the maintenance of the station buildings and external areas.
