ReportCalcio 2011, the economic and financial analysis of Italian football by Arel

Arel, the economic research agency founded – among others – by Nino Andreatta, Umberto Agnelli and Urbano Aletti, is once again dealing with the football industry in Italy with the publication of the “ReportCalcio 2011” project.

ReportCalcio 2011, the economic and financial analysis of Italian football by Arel

The ReportCalcio project - writes Arel's general secretary, Enrico Letta, in the presentation of the 2011 report on the football industry - was born with the aim of offering all those who are interested in the Italian football system an annual analysis that allows to examine the trends and changes in progress and to indicate the objectives to be pursued in order to reach levels of greater competitiveness. This project is the result of collaboration between an economic research centre, Arel, an important international company such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Football Federation, which with its participation demonstrates sensitivity, openness, but above all the will to tackle the problems of the our system.

The first ReportCalcio that we present therefore contains a lot of data, both on the economic-financial aspects and on the organizational and regulatory ones, starting from which it will be possible to develop analyses, draw comparisons and indicate proposals to improve the situation. Many of these elements confirm some of the main conclusions in the book The restart they had been identified.

In the meantime, the data for the new year seem to delve into critical issues and problems with respect to which the need for improvement measures cannot be postponed.
