Renzi keeps Conte on the rope on the Recovery but cleared up on the Mes

Today I vote in Parliament on the reform of the Mes, but it is on the Recovery that Conte risks, because Renzi, with the indirect support of Zingaretti and part of the Five Stars, asks the premier to cancel the control room from the Budget Law and to review the allocation of European resources: otherwise Italia Viva will withdraw its ministers and for the Conte 2 government it will be a crisis

Renzi keeps Conte on the rope on the Recovery but cleared up on the Mes

The Government faces today Parliament's vote on the reform of the Mes, but, barring twists, there are good reasons to imagine that Conte 2 will pass the test. Not only because a part of the grillina frond seems reabsorbed and because the reasoning part of Forza Italia will lend a hand, but also because the leader of Italia Viva, Matteo Renzi, who once again is the real balance of the government, has already said which on this ground will support the Government. After the umpteenth majority meeting and after Prime Minister Conte's speech in Parliament, Renzi has in effect given his green light to the resolution of the Government on the reform of the Mes.

But if the clouds seem to clear up on the ESM reform, it is on the Recovery Fund that the tug of war between Renzi and Conte remains more open than ever. The leader of Italia Viva, who acts as a breakthrough center forward also for the wing of the Democratic Party which refers to the secretary Nicola Zingaretti and that of the Five Stars which looks to the Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio increasingly intolerant of Conte's methods of government, he said clearly to the premier that o cancel the control room, which would end up effectively depriving the Government, and change the very allocation of plan resources Italian implementation of the Recovery Fund or he can forget the consent of the Renzians. And at that point the Government would risk the crisis, because Renzi clarified in the Senate that both the control room and the allocation of resources of the Italian Recovery implementation plan must come out of the Budget Law otherwise Italia Viva will not vote for it and will withdraw the his ministers from the Government. And, moreover, Renzi has asked that Conte also remove the rule establishing the Secret Service Foundation from the Budget Law, which had already seen all the political forces present in Copasir against it. In short, after today and after Renzi's harsh attack on the Conte, the showdown is approaching and will take place on the occasion of the approval of the Budget Law before the end of the year.

“We have not given Salvini full powers and we will not give them to Conte” Renzi repeated. Even the Democratic Party has noticed that the leader of Italia Viva is serious, trying to mediate to avoid the government crisis but welcomes a rebuke to Conte's solitary management both on Recovery and on the use of the Mes and on the foundation of cybersecurity. Now it's up to the premier to defuse the risk of crisis, but certainly for Italian politics the next few days will be hot.
