The novelty will enter into force on May XNUMX through a cut in personal income tax and was announced today by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi at the end of this afternoon's Council of Ministers, during which the housing plan and new measures for school and the job.

The relief, which will be contained in a decree that the Executive will issue by April 30, will help "not only the most disadvantaged segments of the population - underlined the head of government -, but also part of the middle class. These resources will help you reach the end of the month more calmly. We are talking about an audience of 10 million Italians who will receive a total 10 billion euros a year. About 80 euros per month. It is a historic operation. Coverage is totally certain thanks to cost savings, higher VAT revenue linked to the payment of public administration debts and the margin of flexibility we enjoy on the deficit. Without raising taxes.

The situation is different for theIRAP: “From May 10 we will lower it by 20% and in this case the operation will be financed with the increase in taxation on other realities – continued the Premier -. Bots are not affected, but the tax on financial transactions, which will go from 26 to 10%. The intervention on IRAP therefore does not fall within the XNUMX billion to reduce the tax wedge, it is obtained with a fiscal remodulation”.

As for the release of the payments of the public administration's debts, “the bill approved by the CDM will be followed by a decree law – Renzi said again -. We are talking about 68 billion because we use the estimates of the Bank of Italy, but the Treasury are not so convinced that it is 68”.

On the chapter work, Renzi explained that the Fornero reform will be slightly modified: the fixed-term contract will be valid for a maximum of three years and will be applicable without reason with a limit of 20% of the total number of workers. Apprenticeships will also be simplified.

The Premier then announced the arrival of three and a half billion euros for the school and a billion and a half to intervene on hydrogeological instability of the country. As regards the Executive's activity in the spring, “we confirm that in the next 100 days we will work hard on various fronts – Renzi reiterated -. In April we will carry out the reform of the public administration, in May the tax reform, in June that of justice ".
