Renzi: "Privatisations will take place but Eni and Enel are not priorities"

"The privatizations", the 10 billion expected within the year, "will take place and the expected targets will be respected". However, "I am not convinced that we should start with Eni and Enel". Thus the Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, interviewed by the director of the Sole 24 Ore Roberto Napoletano.

“I don't see it as a priority – explains Renzi – to reduce the shares of the state in two companies that have great potential; the share price can still grow, a more strategic discourse can be made. We have given these companies a long-standing direction and we are convinced that this direction can produce new value to be further enhanced. This – he adds – also applies to the post office, where Caio is doing a good job, let him do it. There is the issue of making cash: with Padoan we will find the most suitable solutions”.
