Renzi: "No maneuver in sight, in 2015 80 euros even for VAT numbers, pensioners and incompetents"

Despite the nasty surprise that arrived yesterday from GDP for the first quarter (-0,1%, against expectations for +0,2%), Prime Minister Matteo Renzi "categorically excludes" the possibility of a new corrective maneuver. “Usually the maneuvers are carried out to introduce new taxes – said the Prime Minister on Radio 24 -. What happened in the first 70 days of government is that a maneuver was made not to introduce new taxes, but to cancel some taxes for those who do not make it to the end of the month”.

Furthermore, the Premier announced that "next year, perhaps in the stability law", the bonus of 80 euros will also be extended to "VAT numbers, pensioners and incompetent people".

As for GDP, Renzi defends his optimism: even if "no one says that the crisis is over", the disappointment with yesterday's data concerned some "decimals", and now "we need to accelerate on the things necessary to get the country back on track. Germany did 10 years ago what we didn't do and what we have to do now with the reform of the Public Administration and of labour".

Today “there is above all a problem of the unemployed – concluded Renzi -. The percentage we should have engraved in mind is 43%, the percentage of youth unemployment”. As for the precariousness – in fact made easier by the reform approved yesterday –, the Premier claimed the effectiveness of the provision, because it "allows workers and entrepreneurs more simplicity and more opportunities to hire".
